Tacoma Sister Cities Larry Itliong Youth Art Contest

• Submission Deadline: Friday, October 17

• Categories: Elementary (K–5), Middle (6–8), and High School (9–12)

• Theme Topics Include:

• Larry Itliong’s life & leadership

• The Delano Grape Strike & farmworker movement

• Filipino American contributions in Tacoma & beyond

• Social justice, labor, rights, and solidarity

• Filipino values of Bayanihan and Kapwa

• Awards & Recognition: Prizes will be awarded to winners in each category. Certificates, art supplies, and more will be provided.

Important Dates:

• Submissions due: October 17

• Judging: October 18–19

• Winners announced: October 20

• Exhibit & Awards Ceremony: October 25 at Tacoma’s Larry Itliong Day Proclamation at Asia Pacific Cultural Center during Filipino Day

Submission Instructions:

• Students must submit original artwork with their name, grade, and school included.

• Entries may be dropped off at:
