The Sister Cities Council of Tacoma advances Tacoma as a global city and promotes peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation through citizen diplomacy – one individual, one community at a time – for the benefit of Tacoma and its sister cities.

To accomplish its mission, The Sister Cities Council of Tacoma develops programs in the areas of cultural arts and tourism, global education, government relations, and international business.

OUR MISSION

Promoting cross cultural arts and tourism, global education, international business and government exchange.

Promote

SCCT is a non-profit, volunteer organization that aims to promote mutual economic development, educational, cultural, health/environmental and other cooperation and exchanges between Tacoma and its international Sister Cities.

Through various actions and programs, SCCT builds bridges and facilitates the sharing of ideas and projects between Tacoma and its international communities and partners.

Connect

SCCT activities are designed to benefit the City of Tacoma, its residents and the business community by supporting the Mayoral Initiatives of the City of Tacoma and the goals of the Sister Cities International organization.

Develop

For Tacoma, sister city relationships are an international bridge for businesses to expand and help spur growth, as well as increase communication between citizens and raise the profile of Tacoma as an international destination.
