On May 20, the city of Tacoma announced it had received a donation of 70,000 disposable medical masks and 500 medical gowns from the city of Fuzhou, the capital of China’s Fujian province. The masks and gowns are now being distributed through the community to healthcare providers, homeless shelters, food banks, community centers and other community groups helping to fight the coronavirus outbreak. The donation was large enough, the city says they can afford to set aside some masks to be used later, in case theirs a resurgence of the virus in the fall or winter.
