Let’s celebrate International Education Week with World Affairs Council and the Tacoma Community College (TCC) Homestay Program!
This Travel Talk will focus on Kitakyushu, Japan, one of Tacoma’s sister cities. It’s the 60th anniversary since Tacoma’s relationship with Kitakyushu started and TCC has worked with the University of Kitakyushu for more than a decade of student exchange.
This Travel Talk will provide information regarding historical background on Tacoma and Kitakyushu’s relationship, as well as how the relationship has had a positive impact on educational institutions, students, and community members. There will also be a panel discussion by faculty and four TCC students who just returned from the Sustainability Conference in Kitakyushu.
This program will give you comprehensive information and ideas about how sister cities can benefit all of us. Come enjoy meeting with students from Kitakyushu, experience Japanese culture, and learn about how a city and higher education can collaborate together.
All Travel Talks are free and open to the public, but please RSVP so we make sure your spot is saved.
Thank you to Seasons Travel for sponsoring this season’s Travel Talks!
