Kitakyushu 60th Anniversary Kickoff @ The Swiss
2019 is the 60th anniversary of the relationship between the city of Tacoma and its sister city Kitakyushu in Japan.
To celebrate this milestone and to mark the occasion, The Kareem Kandi World Orchestra will be presenting a special evening of music at The Swiss in Tacoma to serve as a kickoff event for the year to come, which will include exchanges from delegates and musicians from both cities.
For this particular evening we will have city officials from Kitakyushu in attendance who will be visiting Tacoma in preparation of the exchange. For the performance Kareem Kandi will be joined by Greg Feingold on bass and Stefan Schatz on drums.
We’ll also be featuring several students involved with our classes. It’s going to be a wonderful night of music to honor this auspicious occasion and I hope you can join us (no cover, all ages welcome).
